Day tour of Theth and Blue Eye from Tirana

After all the food I tasted along my trip from the north to the south of Albania, this cooking class was the perfect way to end my time in this amazing country. With the class you have the chance to get some knowledge on albanian gastronomic influences, you learn on how to prepare some of the albanian typical dishes (and to taste them afterwards) but even more important you have the chance to learn about albanian culture and way of living. I highly recommend this activity for both foodies solo travellers like me️ great way to meet new people, learn about the local culture and enjoy a great feast!
We started with an albanian type of bruschettas, followed by Ferges (summer stew), the Patëllxhan të Mbushur (vegetarian version - stuffed eggplant), then the Lakror (one layer spinach pie) and to finish the homemade cookies Sheqepare. To drink we even had available the warm and spicy version of raki (homemade). No doubt, raki is really strong! But a local staple drink indeed.
Well, it is a different way to explore the city, the country and to meet new people. We were 3 guests + Sindi...and we stayed there around the table eating, chatting, drinking, taking pictures and laughing for longer than it was supposed to, but we were having a great afternoon!
Please do not forget to fast before the cooking class (do not eat for at least 10h prior the class) ... you will have a lot of food available after the class. It is an unforgetable experience!

  Great service and day. Andi and his sister showed tremendous knowledge, engagement and enthusiasm both in advance of, and during, our tour.

We only had a few spare hours... read more between arriving by bus in Tirani from the north and grabbing our hire car to move on to Ohrid. With my wife being vegetarian Andi also had to adjust his normal tour. He did this superbly by combining his food / walking tour with a nice cookery class, which worked really well and enabled us to sample his family made wine at 10.00am in the morning!

Very well organised, Andi met us punctually off our bus, adapted well at the last minute when I told him we had found 2 others who were keen to join the day, and made sure the whole day was adapted to us.

Tirana is never, frankly, going to be a tourist hotspot, but for those with time to spare and looking to use it interestingly in Tirana I would warmly recommend Andi. Good value and excellent service. More
